Sharpay and her twin brother are the children of Vance and Derby Evans, and were the stars of seventeen school productions. Sharpay is exactly the princess of broadway , this drama queen was born in February 27 , 1990
After returning to East High from the holidays, Sharpay is given detention when she is caught using her cell phone in Ms. Darbus' classroom. Later, she and her brother do research on the new student, Gabriella Montez, and find out that she was one of the smartest students in her former school. They see to it that she gets involved with the smartest students at East High. Sharpay and Ryan audition for the lead roles of Arnold and Minnie in East High’s winter musical with a new arrangement of “What I've Been Looking For,” much to the dismay of the actual composer, Kelsi Nielson.
She gets angry when, upon checking the callback list, she finds that Troy and Gabriella, whom she thinks did not even audition, are her competition for the main roles. She expresses her desire to "get things back where they belong" as she and the student body perform “Stick to the Status Quo”. At the end of the song, Gabriella accidentally spills her lunch on Sharpay, which leads to Sharpay claiming that Troy only auditioned as part of a plan to ruin the musical.
Her main goal throughout the movie is to try and stop Troy and Gabriella from landing the role in Twinkle Towne.
Sharpay plots to get together with Troy by getting him a job at Lava Springs Country Club, which her family owns. To her chagrin, Troy brings with him all of his friends, including Gabriella. She instructs Mr. Fulton, Lava Springs' manager, to make life as miserable as possible for the rest of the Wildcats, going so far as to have him distribute a memo saying that the junior staff is not allowed in Lava Springs' Midsummer Night Talent Show, no exceptions. She also provides many opportunities for Troy, including getting him a personal training session with the University of Albuquerque Redhawks.
Sharpay's actions push everyone away from her, and she soon finds herself unable to sing anything at all in the talent show. Troy no longer wants to sing with her once he sees how her actions have made him act towards his friends, and her back-up plan, Ryan, has sold his tiki warrior costume online- at her suggestion, no less- and has no desire to sing with her either. Finally, when she is alone and crushed, Troy takes pity on her and brings her onstage for the junior staff's performance of "Everyday." She is nearly awarded the Star Dazzle Award, but it gives it to Ryan as a recognition of his hard work with the other Wildcats.
The movie ends with Sharpay having learned her lesson and friendly with the other Wildcats ... for now.
In high school musical 3, Sharpay hires a new English transfer called Tiara to be her assistant to help her with running her lines and her homework.Basically, someone new to boss about (as Ryan has left her) She plans to have the lead in the musical and the Julliard Scholarship. So she forces Ryan to find the best song form Kelsi. But, Ryan stands strong and tells her that's shes not Gabriella. Then, when Gabriella leaves for college early, Sharpay takes this to becoming her role so she will be the star of the show. The night of the play comes and when Sharpay thinks shes singing with Troy, she find out that he has gone to see Gabriella, so Jimmie takes his place! His new cologne makes Sharpay sneeze, so she runs off embarrassed by everyone, including the Julliard Representatives. Then when she thinks nothing else can be worse than that, she walks into her dressing room to see Tiara in a replica of her dress for 'a night to remember' and Tiara tells her that she was only acting to be kind and humble. Sharpay is upset for a while, but this doesn't stop her from going onto Tiaras number and having a sing off with her! In the end, Sharpay doesn't win the Julliard scholarship, but does go to the University of Albuquerque and will be assisting Ms Darbus next next year as head of the drama club, to Tiaras dismay.
Sharpay is a drama queen: arrogant, domineering, and melodramatic. She likes to boss her brother, Ryan, around, and likes to be in control. It has been said that if she could play both lead roles, her own brother would be out of a job. She wants everything around her to be fabulous and often wears glittery, bright clothing. She seems to view Troy as a status symbol, Gabriella as a roadblock, and Kelsi as a tool to be discarded on her whim. Sharpay never stops in the pursuit of something she wants. Though she is generally unkind to everyone around her, she does truly love her family and dog, and her occasional cruelty is borne out of a desire for everything she's involved with to be fabulous.

| I got this new journal to keep my mind flowing while I go from my last town to New Mexico... Everything has been a little hectic, but at least we're on vacation now, which is nice. Mom is attempting to make me go to this 'teen party' downstairs tonight.. I mean, it is New Years... But there's this AMAZING book I really want to finish, and I just can't get enough of it, really.. ...But I guess I might as well start attempting to interact with people my own age, since I am going to a new school and all... And it'll make Mom happy. ...But I really don't want to go. Okay.. I'll just bring my book there, sit in a chair, I'm pretty sure I'll be left unharmed... Good deal. See you in the new year, Journal.. Gabriella ABOUT CORBIN BLEW Doc Corbin DartFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaDoc Corbin Dart (1953 - ) was lead singer, founder, and lyricist of Lansing, Michigan, USA's seminal 80's punk rock act the The Crucifucks. He is the son of Rollin Dart, former chairman of Dart National Bank, and more distantly related to the Dart Container family. Doc's excruciating vocal stylings have been described as harsh, whiny, and "like paint-stripper." His lyrics are rants against the government, the police, and Christianity. The Crucifucks formed in 1982 and signed to Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles Records. They released the self-titled The Crucifucks a year later followed up with Wisconsin. In 1992, these records were re-released as a CD titled 'Our Will Be Done'. The back cover of Our Will Be Done featured a photo of what Dart believed was a slain policeman, the photo was actually from a Philadelphia Police Department drill. Doc is perhaps best known for the 1996 lawsuit filed over the use of this photo. The Philadelphia chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police sued Doc, Alternative Tentacles Records, and Jello Biafra, alleging libel and slander. The trial court awarded a $2.2 million default judgement which was vacated on appeal the following year. (Initially, Borders Books, which operated a Philadelphia record store that carried the album, was also a defendant in the suit.) In 1998, The Crucifucks reformed and did a brief national tour, including a performance at Alternative Tentacles' 20th Anniversary Party. They also released their first CD in nearly a decade, called L.D. Eye. Doc Dart has recorded several solo projects: Patricia (1990, Alternative Tentacles, LP/cassette only) and 'Black Tuesday' (1991, self released, cassette only). Patricia is named after Doc's therapist, who treats him for borderline personality disorder. In 2004 Doc changed his name to 26 and released a solo CD, The Messiah on Madison, Wisconsin's Crustacean Records. Doc Dart opened up for Jello Biafra on his 'I Blow Minds For A Living' Spoken Word Tour. In 1989, Doc Dart was a candidate for mayor of Lansing; he finished third of three in the August 8, 1989 city primary election. Doc continues to be a mainstay of alternative culture in Lansing, Michigan, regularly showing up in local papers. Doc once ran a baseball card store in a small collection of shops on Michigan Avenue near Sparrow Hospital. Currently residing in Okemos, Michigan, he created a stir with alleged anti-American sentiment following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Signs attached to the front of his home read, in part, "U.S. Troops terrorize as cowards from the skies. They should be in body bags". He also claims to be a supporter of the controversial group, Animal Liberation Front[1]. Doc is a divorced father of two adult children. [edit] ReferenceS MONICA Monica Samille Lewinsky (born July 23, 1973) is an American woman with whom then-United States President Bill Clinton admitted to having had an "inappropriate relationship"[1] while Lewinsky worked at the White House in 1995 and 1996. The nature of the affair and its resulting repercussions in the impeachment of Bill Clinton and the surrounding scandals of 1997–99 became known as the Lewinsky scandal, "Monicagate" and "Zippergate."[2]
[edit] Early lifeMonica Lewinsky was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Southern California on the west side of Los Angeles and in Beverly Hills. She is of Russian Jewish descent. Her father is Dr. Bernhard Lewinsky, an oncologist; her mother, Marcia Lewis, is an author. Her parents are divorced.[3] For her primary education she attended the John Thomas Dye School in Bel-Air.[4] She later attended Beverly Hills High School, but transferred to and graduated from Pacific Hills School, formerly known as Bel Air Prep in 1991.[3] She attended two-year community college, Santa Monica College, and completed her undergraduate studies at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, graduating with a psychology degree in 1995. Lewinsky moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the White House as an unpaid summer intern starting in July 1995, moving to a paid position there in December 1995.[3] [edit] ScandalBetween November 1995 and March 1997, Lewinsky had an intimate relationship with President Bill Clinton. She later testified that the relationship involved oral sex in the Oval Office and other sexual contact but that sexual intercourse did not occur. Clinton had previously been dogged by allegations of sexual misconduct, most notably in regard to an alleged long-term relationship with singer and former Arkansas state employee Gennifer Flowers, and an encounter with Arkansas state employee Paula Jones (née Corbin). These events were alleged to have occurred during Clinton's time as Governor of Arkansas. Lewinsky's name surfaced during legal proceedings connected to the latter matter, when Jones's lawyers sought corroborating evidence of Clinton's conduct to substantiate Jones's allegations. In April 1996, Lewinsky's superiors relocated her job to the Pentagon because they felt she was spending too much time around Clinton. [3] Lewinsky confided in a co-worker named Linda Tripp about her relationship with the President. Beginning in September 1997, Tripp began secretly recording their telephone conversations regarding the affair with Clinton. In January 1998, after Lewinsky had submitted an affidavit in the Paula Jones case denying any physical relationship with Clinton, and attempted to persuade Tripp to lie under oath in the Jones case, Tripp gave the tapes to Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr, and these tapes added to his ongoing investigation into the Whitewater controversy. Starr broadened his investigation to include investigating Lewinsky, Clinton, and others for possible perjury and subornation of perjury in the Jones case. Noteworthy for its revelation of Tripp's motivations was her reporting of their conversations to literary agent Lucianne Goldberg. Tripp also convinced Lewinsky to save the gifts that Clinton had given her during their affair, and not to dry clean what would later be infamously known as "the blue dress." While under oath, Clinton denied having had "a sexual affair," "sexual relations," or "a sexual relationship" with Lewinsky,[5] and on 26 January 1998 claimed "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky" in a nationally televised White House news conference. The line later became famous for its technical truthfulness but deceptive nature, based on one's definition of "sexual relations." Clinton also said, "there is not a sexual relationship, an improper sexual relationship or any other kind of improper relationship"[6] which he defended as truthful on 17 August 1998 hearing because of the use of the present tense, famously arguing "it depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is"[7] (i.e., he was not, at the time he made that statement, still having a sexual relationship with Lewinsky). Under pressure from Starr, who as Clinton learned had obtained from Lewinsky a blue dress with Clinton's semen stain, as well as testimony from Lewinsky that the President had inserted a cigar into her vagina, Clinton admitted that he lied to the American people and that he had had "inappropriate intimate contact" with Lewinsky. Clinton denied having committed perjury because, according to Clinton, the legal definition[8] of oral sex was mutually exclusive of "sex" per se. Clinton's insistence on the alleged distinction drew criticism from both political parties. In addition, relying upon the definition of "sexual relations" as proposed by the prosecution and agreed by the defense and by Judge Susan Webber Wright, who was hearing the Paula Jones case, Clinton claimed that because certain acts were performed on him, not by him, he did not engage in sexual relations. Lewinsky's testimony to the Starr Commission, however, contradicted Clinton's claim of being totally passive in their encounters. Clinton's lawyer later argued that different people can remember the same events in different ways. Both Clinton and Lewinsky were called before a grand jury; Clinton testified via closed-circuit television, Lewinsky in person. Given an opportunity to offer final words on the matter, Lewinsky told the jury, "I hate Linda Tripp," then added that the president never asked her to lie. [edit] After the scandalThe affair led to a period of pop culture celebrity for Lewinsky as a younger-generation focus of a political storm. Around early 1999, Lewinsky reportedly said "I'm well-known for something that isn't great to be well-known for."[9][10] By her own account, Lewinsky survived the intense media attention by knitting. Soon after the scandal she started a business selling her own brand of handbags online, but she closed it in 2004. On March 3, 1999, she appeared on 20/20. She also appeared on The Tom Green Show in which the host took her to his parents' home in Ottawa in search of fabric for her new business. Lewinsky made a cameo appearance as herself in two sketches during the May 8, 1999 episode of NBC's Saturday Night Live, a program that had lampooned her relationship with Clinton over the prior sixteen months. She was also the host of the short-lived reality television dating program called Mr. Personality in 2003. After Clinton's autobiography My Life appeared in 2004, Lewinsky said in an interview with the British tabloid Daily Mail:[11]
In December 2006, Lewinsky graduated with a master's degree in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics[12] where she had been studying since September 2005.[13] Her thesis was titled “In Search of the Impartial Juror: An exploration of the third person effect and pre-trial publicity.” [edit] References ZAC EFRON AND GABRILLAVanessa HudgensFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Vanessa Anne Hudgens)

The album was nominated as #7 on "Album of The Year" by Billboard Readers' Choice.[13] Hudgens sang the duet "Still There For Me" with Corbin Bleu for his debut album. Hudgens performing "Let's Dance" at the High School Musical: The Concert Tour. Hudgens also appeared on the soundtrack of High School Musical 2, performing several songs such as "Gotta Go My Own Way", "You Are The Music In Me" and "What Time Is It?". In the end of 2007, she had performed "The Christmas Song" along with Katharine McPhee and Ne-Yo for "Christmas In Washington" event. [edit] 2008-present: Identified and current projectsHudgens's second album was Identified. The first single from this album, "Sneakernight", premiered on Radio Disney on April 11, 2008. On the first week of the release of her album, Identified sold more than 22,000 copies, 12,000 less than her debut album. Though the album had poor sales its first week, Identified received generally positive reviews from music critics. The album was released a week before the United States in Japan featuring three exclusive-bonus songs. Though the album wasn't very successful on the charts, the lead single was able to climb at the top 10 on the Hot Dance Club Play and peaked at #8.[14][15] Hudgens launched on July 31, 2008 her first solo tour called "Identified Summer Tour" in order to promote her two albums, performing some of the most popular songs from her debut album and others from her sophomore album. The tour reached Mexico too and she appeared in the Neutrogena Fresh Face Concert on September 7, 2008 at Santa Monica, California Powerhouses with fellow spokesperson, Hayden Pannettiere.[16][17] As of October 2008, she has officially closed the concert tour. Hudgens reprised her role as Gabriella for the third time in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. She also appeared on the soundtrack of the movie, performing songs such as "Can I Have This Dance" and "Walk Away". She also presented an award in the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards along with the rest of the HSM cast.[18] Hudgens and the cast of HSM 3 launched a European promotional tour to promote the movie.[19] Vanessa made only $2 million for the film, reportedly due to the photo scandal that hurt her image.[20] On January 11, 2008, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Hudgens would star in the comedy, Bandslam. Hudgens will play 15-year old Sam and the movie is set to premiere on July 31, 2009.[21][22][23]. She is currently in talks to star in the movie adaptation of the novel, Dreary and Naughty.[24][25] [edit] Products and endorsementIn 2007, Hudgens signed a promotional deal for the Eckō Red footwear in which she did two commercials for the brand and had "Sneakernight" as her first single for her sophomore album, Identified. She also endorsed the sneakers in the video for the song.[26] Sears has teamed up with Hudgens for a back-to-school marketing campaign that began in July and had the theme, "Don't just go back. Arrive." Hudgens is featured in the integrated marketing campaign, including print ads, long-format video, television spots, digital, and sweeps that included a private concert at a school with Vanessa performing. The long-format Sears video was shot by Grammy award-winning director Joseph Kahn. [27] Hudgens is also currently a Neutrogena spokesperson, being featured in both national TV and print campaigns.[28]In September 2008, she taken part in the Neutrogena Fresh Face Concert. [edit] Image and personal lifeThe first High School Musical spawned a hit soundtrack, a worldwide concert tour, a show at Walt Disney World, and even a book series that helped Hudgens land in Forbes magazine's list of top-earning stars under 21." In the list, the 18-year-old Hudgens was No. 7 with estimated earnings of $2 million.[29]. Hudgens confirmed, in an October 2007 interview with Teen Magazine, that she was dating her High School Musical series co-star Zac Efron and had been since the filming of High School Musical.[30][31] At 2008, she was ranked as FHM's 62nd Sexiest Woman[32] and Maxim's number 12 in their 100 Hot List.[33] She was included in People magazine's annual "100 Most Beautiful People" list in May 2008. As of 2008, she had been a covergirl for Teen Vogue, CosmoGirl and Lucky Magazine.[34] She had also took photoshoots with her boyfriend, Zac Efron and High School Musical co-star Ashley Tisdale for Elle Magazine,[35] Glamour Magazine for the May issue and InStyle for October.[36] On September 6, 2007, controversy erupted after provocative photos of Hudgens surfaced online. Two showed her posing in suggestive lingerie, and another showed her nude. A statement from her publicist claims that the photo was taken privately and it was "unfortunate" that they were released on the Internet.[37] Hudgens later apologized, saying that she was "embarrassed over the situation" and regretted having "taken [those] photos."[38] Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague indicated that Disney will still be working with Hudgens, stating, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."[39][40] After the scandal blew over, Hudgens was quoted as saying, "I'm much better now. But truthfully I don't like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn't anymore, I'd still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn't have been able to get through it if it wasn't for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way".[41] [42] Early speculation that Vanessa Hudgens would be dropped from High School Musical 3 due to her nude photo scandal proved untrue.[43] Although it was reported by OK! Magazine that Vanessa would be replaced by Adrienne Bailon or Sabrina Bryan from the Cheetah Girls in High School Musical 3,[44] Access Hollywood confirmed that the cast was still in negotiations and Vanessa would not be cut from High School Musical 3. "Totally untrue. It is an old rumor," Vanessa's representative told Access, "OK! Magazine never bothered to check the fact with me, but they did call Disney who said it wasn't true, but yet OK! ran it anyway. Apparently, OK! Magazine was having a slow news day."[45] She also claims that she did not regret on the leakage of the photos.[46] Hudgens was sued by music producer Johnny Vieira, who claims she reneged on a deal to share her earnings with him after he helped make her a star. In the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Vieira accuses Hudgens and father, Greg Hudgens, of breach of contract and fraud, seeking more than $27 million in damages. Hudgens's record label, Hollywood, also is named as a defendant in the suit. Vieira said he was dumped from Hudgens's management team soon after she was cast in HSM. However, "it became clear that Hudgens and her new 'team' ... all directed by her father ... would take every possible opportunity to deprive Vieira of the benefits to be derived from the settlement agreement," the lawsuit says. Hudgens's publicist could not immediately be reached for comment. A Disney spokesman said the company had not had a chance to review the lawsuit.".[47] According to the suit, they subsequently reached a settlement under which Hudgens agreed to pay Vieira a percentage of her earnings from her first three albums under her solo recording contract with Hollywood Records.[48] [edit] FilmographyZAC EFRONFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zachary David Alexander "Zac" Efron (born October 18, 1987) is an American actor and singer. He began acting in the early 2000s, and became known to young audiences after his roles in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical, the WB series Summerland, and the film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray.[1][2] Speaking to Newsweek in June 2006, director Adam Shankman described Efron as "arguably the biggest teen star in America right now."[3] In 2007, right before the release of High School Musical 2, Rolling Stone declared him the "poster boy for tweenyboppers" and featured him in their late August issue.[4]
Early life and backgroundEfron was born in San Luis Obispo, California and later moved to Arroyo Grande, California. His father, David Efron, is an engineer at a power plant, and his mother, Starla Baskett, is a former secretary who worked at the same power plant as Efron's father.[5][6] Efron had a self-described "normal childhood" in a middle class family, and has a younger brother, Dylan.[1] Efron is of Jewish ancestry and was raised agnostic, having never been religious.[7][8] He has said that he would "flip out" if he got a 'B' and not an 'A' in school, and that he was a "class clown."[9] Efron's father encouraged him to begin acting when Efron was eleven.[5] He subsequently appeared in theater productions at his high school,[10] worked in a theater called The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville,[1] and began taking singing lessons.[5] Efron performed in plays such as Gypsy, Peter Pan, Or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Music Man. Efron was recommended to an agent in Los Angeles by his drama teacher, Robyn Metchik (the mother of actors Aaron Michael Metchik and Asher Metchik).[11][12] He was later signed to the Creative Artists Agency.[13] EducationEfron graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 2006,[14] and was then accepted into the University of Southern California, but he deferred his enrollment while he worked on film projects. He plans to return at some time.[15] Efron also attended Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, a community college located in Santa Maria, California, which provided him with the opportunity to perform as a "young player" during the years of 2000 and 2001.[16] Acting careerIn 2002, Efron began to appear in guest roles on several television series, including Firefly, ER, and The Guardian. He portrayed Cameron Bale on the now-cancelled WB series Summerland. Originally introduced as a recurring character, Efron became a regular cast member on the show in the second season in 2004, starring opposite the likes of Kay Panabaker, Lori Loughlin and Jesse McCartney. Since appearing in Summerland, he has also had guest roles on the shows CSI: Miami, NCIS (TV series), The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Replacements. In 2003, Efron starred in the Lifetime original television movie Miracle Run. He played Steven Morgan, one of two autistic twins. For his performance, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-series or Special — Supporting Young Actor.[17] In 2005, he played a main character in Hope Partlow's music video for her song "Sick Inside." Also in 2005, he played horse-loving Patrick McCardle in The Derby Stallion, where his character wants to beat the town bully at the steeple chase race. 2006: High School MusicalIn 2006, Efron starred in the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical as Troy Bolton, the popular student and captain of the basketball team. The film, which he initially made with "low expectations",[1] helped Efron gain recognition among teenage audiences as both an actor and a singer. As a result, he placed as high as #4 on the IMDBPro's STARMeter for the week of January 29, 2006.[18] In August 2006, Efron won a Teen Choice Award in the Breakout Star and the TV — Choice Chemistry categories, shared with Vanessa Hudgens. The film's cast, along with Efron, toured Sydney, Australia, London, England, and other locations to promote the film. Shortly after High School Musical aired, Efron debuted with two simultaneous charted songs on Billboard Hot 100 on February 4, 2006, with "Get'cha Head in the Game" and "Breaking Free," a duet with Vanessa Hudgens from the film. On the following week's chart, Efron had five simultaneous song credits from High School Musical: "Get'cha Head in the Game," "Start of Something New," "What I've Been Looking For: Reprise," "We're All in This Together" and "Breaking Free." "We're All in This Together" was credited to the whole High School Musical cast. "Breaking Free," at the time, made the fastest climb in the history of the Billboard charts, from #86 to #4 between the two weeks; the record has since been beaten by Beyoncé and Shakira's "Beautiful Liar."[19] Efron also appeared in the 2006 Disney Channel Games as captain of the Red Team. Efron's singing talents were disputed when it was revealed that Andrew Seeley's voice was blended with his on the soundtrack of High School Musical.[20] An August 23, 2007 interview in Rolling Stone magazine revealed that he had been cast in High School Musical after the songs were written, and the songs (written for a tenor) were somewhat out of his baritone vocal range. However, Efron stated in interviews that he felt his future is that of a serious dramatic actor, not necessarily a singer. 2007-present: Recent rolesOn April 7, 2007, Efron appeared in an episode of Punk'd. Efron also starred in the music video for Vanessa Hudgens's single "Say OK", where he played her love interest. The video aired on March 16, 2007 on Disney Channel. That year, he was named one of People magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People in 2007. A picture and short profile of him was in the section "Coming of Age". In it, he related how he was always the shortest kid in school (he is now 5'8")[6] and was teased for the "huge gap" in his teeth.[21] In 2006, Efron was cast as Link Larkin in a film version of Hairspray released on July 20, 2007. Efron performed all of his own vocals in the role,[3] which was filmed in Toronto, Ontario, from September 5 to December 2, 2006. He cut and dyed his hair dark brown and gained about 15 pounds for the role.[22] Both Efron's performance and the film have received positive reviews.[11] Because of this, he was not able to perform with his fellow castmates in High School Musical: The Concert. Drew Seeley took over for him. High School Musical 2 was released in August 2007, and Efron topped IMDBPro's Star Meter at #1, indicating that he was the most searched celebrity.[23] Additionally, Lycos reported searches for Efron surged by 81%.[24] The film set a new record, becoming the most watched basic cable program in U.S. history, with 17.2 million viewers.[25] Efron also appeared on the cover of the August 2007 edition of Rolling Stone.[26] The article about him revealed that he hoped to someday play an action hero. Efron presented the 2007 Teen Choice Award for "Favorite Movie" along with Queen Latifah, and later that year, he co-hosted the Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards with The Veronicas on October 10 in Sydney.[27][28] Efron's upcoming roles include 17 Again, a high school-set drama/comedy produced by Adam Shankman and based on a pitch by Jason Filardi;[29] the plot involves an adult who is transformed into a 17-year old (to be played by Efron).[30] 17 Again will be released in 2009.[18] In early 2008, Efron was cast as the lead role in the film Me and Orson Welles. Based on Robert Kaplow's novel of the same name, the story, set in 1937 New York, tells of a teenager hired to star in Orson Welles' production of Julius Caesar, where he becomes attracted to a career-driven production assistant. The film was shot in the Isle of Man, London and New York, during February — April 2008. It is currently set for release in 2009 and was introduced to North America via the Toronto Film Festival on September 5,6, and 11th 2008.[31] Efron reprised his role as Troy in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, released on October 24, 2008. Efron is also scheduled to star in Paramount's musical remake of the film Footloose.[32] He has said that he would like to add his "own little bit of flair" to the role originated by Kevin Bacon.[6] Personal lifeEfron owns an apartment and has two dogs, Australian shepherds named Dreamer and Puppy. He also has a Siamese cat named Simon.[33] On January 15, 2008, Efron was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for an emergency appendectomy.[34] Zac Efron was also on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2008, as number 92 with an estimated earning of $5.8 million from June of '07 to June of '08. Efron was still dating his High School Musical series co-star, Vanessa Anne Hudgens as of September 3, 2008.[35] Filmography | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
